Westwood Country Club is an upscale, highly maintained private 18-hole golf facility designed by Charles Hugh Allison and is in Rocky River Ohio, 15 minutes west of downtown Cleveland. Greens, tees, and fairways are bentgrass.
Westwood is looking for an Equipment manager/Mechanic. We are looking for a motivated, self-starting person to be an integral part of the staff and maintain the fleet of golf course equipment. The comfortable maintenance shop consists of two buildings and is equipped with tools, lifts, hoists, reel and bedknife grinders, along with a separate office. The person filling this position will be responsible for needed repairs, preventative maintenance, adjusting mowers, and will help with future equipment recommendations. JOB SUMMARY
- General repairs and upkeep of all course equipment
- A working knowledge of gas and diesel engines
- Must be able to diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical issues
- Ability to prioritize equipment repairs and maintenance
- Sharpen/grind reel mowers and adjust daily as needed
- Manage a clean and organized maintenance shop areas with safety in mind
- A team player that works well with others and can help direct the proper safe use and care of the equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- High school diploma.
- Any mechanical classes or seminars are helpful
- 1-2 years golf course equipment maintenance experience
- Several years of general mechanical experience.
- Organizational and record keeping abilities
- Self-starter, with strong work ethic
